First of all there’s the fireworks. Fireworks are going off on every street corner from the 1st December at 6pm, essentially until the midnight on the 5th January. Parties spill out on the streets, red wine in little paper cups is the drink of the season and in short, Christmas in Napoli is one long party. And then there’s the food.

The big party (AKA Christmas Eve) is actually strictly a ‘fishy’ occasion. Spaghetti alla Vongole, Zuppa di Cozze and fried Baccalà to name a few dishes. But for the rest of the season you can rest assured you’ll never be too far from a giant bubbling pot of Neapolitan ragù with meatballs. Getting ready for a big night? Ragù. Recovering from the night before? Ragù. Basically it’s a ragù-fest and we’re into it.

So this year our Christmas pizza is a tribute to the Neapolitan party spirit, powered, of course, by Ragù. We cook ours low and slow with beef and San Marzano tomatoes and finish it off with extra virgin olive oil and basil. The sausage meatballs have a spike of nduja in them that gives them a spicy kick. We serve that up on our double fermented dough and finished with fior di latte mozzarella. Trust us, it’s quite something….
