Our OG pizzeria on Dean St is closing for a few weeks for the makeover of a lifetime!
We'll be back swinging on 1st December, in time for all your festive party shenanigans.
After a year of slinging pizzas on Berwick St market, 11 Dean St was our first proper pizzeria, and oh boy, do these walls have some stories to tell!
Please indulge us on a trip down memory lane. We'd been doing the market with Concetta, our beloved Piaggio Ape van, for 1 year, and the late, great Russell Norman used to come by for pizza a lot. We asked him what we should do next, and he said "4 walls!". Luckily, he knew of a spot that was too small for Polpo but could be perfect for us. He showed us round the next day and, a few months later, we were open on Dean St!
What a learning curve it is opening a restaurant. We made EVERY mistake in the book, but we had such a glorious team of friends, actors, and musicians.
The following 12 months were crazy — every night a party — and slowly we figured out what we were doing.
Can't describe how much we love this pizzeria. Dean St will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Here's a selection of photos that sum up that first 12 months:
